DIgital Prints on Beverage Cans

After being away from my studio for one month, I was glad to be back to work this week. One of the things on the agenda was to photo my digitally printed beverage can piece. The surface of this piece is truly interesting. Now that all the cans that were printed, 100 new cans are in the process. Printing will start early next week and once 200 cans are printed the piece will be added to. Slow going, but the feel of the piece is just what I am looking for so I am excited about the continuation:)

This piece is composed of beverage cans that have been digitally printed and then cut, folded, holes punched and waxed linen used to connect the surface. 16" x 10' To see the beginning of this piece, go to my post of June 14, 2009

Recycled Beverage Can Installation

A new glimpse of my beverage can installation. It is now 6" wide and 10' long. I am in the process of adding another section of the same size. As it goes further it will be hung in the corner of my studio as I build it. So far it has over 100 cans in the configuration with 100 more being added. Then it's back to printing surfaces with 100 cans already prepared to print. This piece will be the first layer of my installation and other configurations will be printed and added until the installation is complete.
