DIgital Prints on Beverage Cans

After being away from my studio for one month, I was glad to be back to work this week. One of the things on the agenda was to photo my digitally printed beverage can piece. The surface of this piece is truly interesting. Now that all the cans that were printed, 100 new cans are in the process. Printing will start early next week and once 200 cans are printed the piece will be added to. Slow going, but the feel of the piece is just what I am looking for so I am excited about the continuation:)

This piece is composed of beverage cans that have been digitally printed and then cut, folded, holes punched and waxed linen used to connect the surface. 16" x 10' To see the beginning of this piece, go to my post of June 14, 2009 http://kathyanneart.blogspot.com/2009/06/digitally-printed-beverage-can.html

  1. WOW! 10 feet tall, and still growing.

Forget Jack and the Beanstalk. This is Kathy and the Can-stalk. I wonder if you'll find a castle at the top of all this? (Fee-fie-fo-fum, I smell the blood of an American.)

  2. Carol, lol, Maybe I could show this outside somewhere under the sky. It's growing, but it will be a long, long time. Printing 100 cans even as we speak:)
